Gustavo contributes to the Innosuisse-funded project Think Earth – Regenerative Building, advancing research on indoor comfort and passive design with earth and wood components. His work combines experimentally validated tools, case studies, and actionable guidelines to help academia and industry harness the potential of these historically rooted materials.

He holds a Master’s in Integrated Building Systems from ETH Zurich, where he was awarded the Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Program (ESOP), and a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from the University of Brasília, including a year at École des Ponts ParisTech. His experience includes projects in urban water systems, inverse design for energy-efficient buildings, and surrogate modeling for 3D-printed façades.
